Twin Falls woman charged for assisting prisoner escape and St. Alphonsus shooting

Tia Garcia is a 27-year-old Twin Falls woman who is accused of aiding in the prisoner escape and police shooting at Saint Alphonsus on March 20.

Garcia has been charged in Ada County with felony Aiding and Abetting Escape.

Garcia allegedly had helped with the planning and execution of the escape of Skylar Meade. Meade was transferred to Saint Alphonsus after harming himself when gunshots fired at security and IDOC personnel injured officers and allowed Meade to escape.

Garcia was arrested for probation violation in Twin Falls when Meade andNicholas Umphenour were arrested. The additional charges of Aiding and Abetting were brought in Ada County where Garcia has now been booked and is currently in jail.
